Wiki Version:
**Alteration of Stream Temperatures by Natural and Artificial Beaver Dams - Raw Data Access** This page is intended to provide access to beaver dam distribution and stream temperature data used to support the analyses and results presented in the article by Weber and others and published in *PLOS ONE*. This data was collected by the [ISEMP (Integrated Status and Effectiveness Monitoring Program)][1] program in support of the [Bridge Creek IMW (Intensively Monitored Watershed)][2] project. The data is publicly available for download on this page, and use of the datasets to answer novel questions is encouraged. Data is stored using readily accessible formats. Tabular data is stored in excel workbooks (.xlsx) often with multiple sheets (tabs) per file. Spatial data is stored within [ESRI shapefiles][3] (.shp). **Stream Temperature Data** *Temperature_RawData.xlsx* - Contains temperature monitoring site list that includes site name, river kilometer, and operational dates. Second sheet contains hourly temperature data values for the study period. *Temperature_BACI.xlsx* - Summarized temperature data used in the BACI analysis of beaver dam influence to temperature, including daily minimum, mean, and maximum temperatures for each day by season and corresponding the before-after portion of the study design. Attribute definition are listed on a separate worksheet. *Temperature_LongChange.xlsx* - Summarized temperature values used in regressions between dam density and longitudinal change in daily minimum, mean, and maximum temperature for each year and season. Attribut definitions are provided on separate worksheet. *Temperature_ChannelScale.xlsx* - Raw hourly temperature observations within the beaver influenced and unimpounded stream reaches used to contrast near-bed temperatures. **Spatial Data** *StreamCenterLine.zip* - Contains line for center of Bridge Creek channel (extracted from imagery) and used to extract the longitudinal position of temperature monitoring locations and intact beaver dams and BDA structures. *AllDamLocations.zip* - Contains shapefile with location of all intact dams and BDA structures within the study area. Attributes contain dam survey year and dam type (natural or BDA) *TempMonitoringLocations.zip* - Location of temperature monitoring sites used in the BACI and longitudinal analyses. *ChannelScaleTemp.zip* - Location of high-density temperature loggers used to describe channel scale temperature heterogeneity.
