Wiki Version:
We will measure a range of physiological, behavioural and psychological dependant variables including: facial thermal temperatures, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiration rate, electro-dermal activity, facial expressions and subjective reports. Facial thermal temperatures will be measured using advice of Ioannou, Gallese, Merla (2014). Measurements will be taken every 15 seconds, however, this may be shorten to pick up higher frequency changes in case there is a possible problem with the Nyquist frequency. Heart rate will be measured using a two lead (+ground) ECG. R-R distance will be measured and used to assess a range of heart rate variability metrics. These will be done on a minute to minute basis across the 10 minutes of the experimental session. Respiration rate will be measured using a single chest band. Respiration rates will be used independently as well as with heart-rate to give a measure of RSA. Skin conductance levels will be measured using a two lead configuration on the distal section of the middle and ring finger of the participants non-preferred hand. Both tonic and phasic assessments will be made. **Analysis** Each data signal will be analysed independently as well as a larger model being built combining the data streams. Both reactivity and lability will be assessed.
