Wiki Version:
from the BART analysis in the exploratory study we discovered that the strongest predictors of Free Will Beliefs were: age Search for Meaning in Life Hope Pathway We will therefore run a study manipulating belief in Free Will to see if FWB is causally related to search for meaning in life or the hope pathway. We will also test whether manipulating FWB alters internal locus of control. We will run two concurrent studies, with 750 participants in each study. Participants will be drawn in a stratified way with unequal probabilities of selection, so that the people who complete each survey will resemble the nation's adult population (according to the most recently available Current Population Survey, conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau) in terms of gender, age, education, ethnicity (Hispanic vs. not), race (allowing each respondent to select more than one race), region, and income.
