Description: . Files: --------- RCC_data_for_Logistic_Regression.csv [probe data] Logistic_Regression_RCC_June18.R [Probe analysis code] Instructions: -------------------- 1. Download the data file "RCC_data_for_Logistic_Regression.csv" and the analysis code "Logistic_Regression_RCC_June18.R". 2. Place the files in the same folder. 3. Open the analysis code in R or an R supported environment. 4. Run the code line by line while following the notes inside the code. * The code is designed to install any required R packages. Analysis: -------------- The code performs a logistic mixed-effects analysis between groups (Retrieval, No-Retrieval) and stage (conditioning [Day 1], counterconditioning [Day 2], reinstatement [Day 3]) with preference toward the CSs+ stimuli as the dependent variable. As fixed effects, we entered group and stage (with interaction term) into the model. As a random effect, we had intercepts for participants and for the effect of binary choice outcome. The binary choice outcome on each trial was marked as 1 or 0, according to participant’s choice of the house paired with monetary gain/loss or not. Specifically, we were interested in the interaction between the groups and the last two stages (counterconditioning and reinstatement). Data file description and variables: ----------------------------------------------------- In the "RCC_data_for_Logistic_Regression.csv" file you will find the extracted relevant raw data of all valid participants. Variables used in the analysis: "Outcome" - Binary variable indicating whether participant chose the CS+ (1) or the CS- (0). This is the dependent variable in the logistic regression analysis. "Subject" - Participant's code, is used as a random effect in the logistic regression analysis. "Group" - Participant's study group ("Retrieval" or "No-Retrieval"). This is the between-subject independent variable used to predict participants choices (i.e., "Outcome"). "Day" - The day is equivalent to the stage of the experiment, i.e., following which manipulation the probe was conducted. 1 = conditioning, 2 = counterconditiong, 3 = reinstatement. This is the within-subject independent variable used to predict participants choices (i.e., "Outcome"). Other variables (not used in the analysis): "Block" - Participants conducted two rounds of probes every day. This indicates the block number (1 or 2). "TrialNum" - The number of trial within each block (could be 1 to 27). There are 18 relevant trials (CS+ vs. CS-) in each block. Nine trials of CS- vs. CS- are not analyzed as they were presented in order to maintain an equal amount of presentations of each CS (to avoid a mere exposure bias).
