Wiki Version:
The goal of this analysis is to understand how gender stereotypes and representations change across decades in the context of films. Durkheim was a proponent of the view that the best place to look for the stereotypes of the society is to look at its cultural products. This is opposed to many studies that ask participants for their subjective attitudes. Given the changing roles of women and men in society and the progress in gender equality, would this be reflected in our collective societal products as well?
