This project is part of the long-term efforts of a large group of ornithologists and conservationalists from a variety of countries to retract a fraudulent study on the breeding biology of the Basra Reed Warbler *Acrocephalus griseldis*. This study was published in the peer-reviewed journal 'Zoology in the Middle East' (Al-Sheikhly *et al*. 2013, 2015). This peer-reviewed journal is published by Taylor & Francis.
