Dear Open Science Enthusiast,
Do you feel the urge to spread Open Science within the student community? Are you interested in forming an initiative to realize this goal? If yes, then you are in the same boat as we were at the beginning of 2019, when we started the Student Initiative for Open Science (SIOS) at the University of Amsterdam. We aim to promote Open Science among students by organizing events, such as lectures and workshops. With this guide, we would like to motivate you to start an Open Science initiative yourself and provide you with the necessary tips and resources. In total, we have thought of 8 steps that can help you to get started. These steps shall not rule you, they shall only inspire you. We felt like giving - or sending (due to Corona and shortage of trees) - this guide to anyone may spark an idea that may hopefully lead to some action.
If you have any questions after reading this document, please don’t hesitate to contact us (sios.information@gmail.com). Further, we would very much appreciate it if you could take the time to give us some feedback on this guide: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc4Fs-t4XJ_NZjc9JWzmYMTobCvDZWu5WgGdfqtigwi49KlFg/viewform?usp=send_form (duration 2 min). Feel free to share as well.
Yours sincerely,
SIOS Team
