Wiki Version:
Please join me on Zoom for a live chat about the poster on Saturday (March 21) 12-2pm: https://umd.zoom.us/my/ekrosalee. This study examined agreement attraction in L2 sentence processing and its interaction with sentence complexity. Interestingly, Korean learners of English were susceptible to attraction with relative clause modifiers but not with prepositional phrase modifiers, unlike native English speakers who showed clear attraction effects for both structures. The findings indicate that agreement attraction in L2 is selective, which may be explained through the relative weighting of cues and activation of words in different structures.
