Wiki Version:
Expectations ------------ A published meta-analysis of the ego depletion effect found an overall effect size of d = 0.62. Probably some unpublished null findings were not included in the meta-analysis, which means the true effect size is likely to be smaller than 0.62. We therefore expect a smaller effect (in the range of d = 0.25 to 0.35) for both the RT difference and the ex-Gaussian fitted RTV. Such an effect size is more in keeping with typical effect sizes in social and personality psychology.
