# Mainstreaming the populist radical right? Online news exposure and voting behavior in the 2019 European Parliament election ### *Sebastian Stier, Caterina Froio & Justin Ho* ## Replication materials The data and code provided here enable the replication of the paper ***Mainstreaming the populist radical right***. The archive contains R and Python scripts as well as data files. ## R scripts | script | description| |---|--| | `1_text_analysis.py` | Multilingual text classification | | `1_text_analysis.R` | Text analysis | | `2_preprocessing.R` | Pre-processing data for regressions | | `3_analysis.R` | Regression analysis, plots for main paper | | `4_appendix.R` | Online Appendix | | `eu_dictionaries.R` | Multilingual EU dictionaries | `functions.R` | Helper functions | ## Data files Aggregated data to reproduce the results are provided in the folder `Data`. The data files are read into the R scripts where appropriate. The raw web tracking data cannot be shared in order to protect the privacy of study participants and due to proprietary constraints. Instead, we share aggregated data files that enable the replication of the statistical analyses.
