H2: Self-perceptions of how much one likes to read as an adult will continue to predict 'kids these days' after accounting for the other variables in the model, either directly or indirectly through the mediators in H1 H3: Kids these days is not a subset of a larger 'adults these days' phenomenon, as indicated by a continued relationship between objective and subjective paths after including 'adults these days' in the model
