Description: In a one-year ZonMw-funded project, we aim to gain a more detailed understanding of the fight against misinformation during a public health crisis such as the covid-19 pandemic This project has three parts. Via (reconstructive) interviews with (1) journalists, and (2) intermediaries for so-called vulnerable groups, we aim to uncover how they approach misinformation and communicate about it; and whether they would take on a different approach with the knowledge they have today. In addition, (3) by a content analysis of traditional and social media, we aim to gain a more detailed understanding of which strategies journalists and intermediaries applied during the covid-19 crisis to inform, respectively, the general public and vulnerable groups about misinformation.
