Description: This is a four-armed randomized controlled trial, testing the effect of postcards sent to registered voters in Philadelphia, PA on turnout at the 2018 midterm elections. There is a control group that receives no postcard, and three treatment arms that receive postcards. The first treatment arm receives two identical versions of a postcard con- taining a community-oriented message (a few days apart), the second treatment arm receives two identical versions of a planning prompt postcard (a few days apart), and the third treatment arm receives the same postcard containing a community-oriented message as the first treatment and then a few days later the same planning prompt postcard as the second treatment.
