**Original citation.** Forti, S., & Humphreys, G.W. (2008). Sensitivity to object viewpoint and action instructions during search for targets in the lower visual field. *Psychological Science, 19*(1), 42-48. **Target of replication.** We seek to replicate the significant interaction between the viewpoint and visual field, F(1,13) = 14.2, prep > .99 **A priori replication criteria.** A successful replication would find a significant two-way interaction between viewpoint and target’s visual field from the full model, with the general pattern that targets in the lower visual had a higher probability of first fixation than those in the upper visual field, and that this effect would be larger for objects depicted in prototypical orientations than those in nonprototypical orientations. We plan to run a 2 (instructions: search by name vs. search by action) x 2 (viewpoint: prototypical vs. nonprototypical) x 2 (target’s visual field: upper vs. lower) repeated measured ANOVA on the probability of the first fixation being on the target. Only correct trials were included in the analyses, i.e. “those on which the target was eventually fixed”. Any trials in which the target was on eye level, rather than in the upper or lower visual field, was planned to be excluded from the analysis, as in the original study.
