Wiki Version:
This data file contains the source data for the reflection interpreted to represent the subduction megathrust in the paper "Subduction megathrust heterogeneity characterized from 3-D seismic data" by Kirkpatrick et al. (2020; *Nature Geoscience*, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41561-020-0562-9). This reflection was extracted from the processed 3D volume of multi-channel seismic data collected offshore western Costa Rica during R/V Marcus G. Langseth expedition MGL1106 (2011) as part of the Costa Rica Seismogenesis Project (CRISP). For data processing and extraction methods, see Kirkpatrick et al. (2020). For original data source see: Bangs, Nathan L.; McIntosh, Kirk D.; Silver, Eli; Kluesner, Jared; Ranero, Cesar. Processed 3D volume of multi-channel seismic data offshore western Costa Rica acquired during the R/V Marcus G. Langseth expedition MGL1106 (2011) as part of the Costa Rica Seismogenesis Project (CRISP). Academic Seismic Portal at UTIG, Marine Geoscience Data System. http://dx.doi.org/10.1594/IEDA/500204 (2018). The data in this file are listed in a table organized in columns as: x y z r g b a h where x, y are UTM coordinates, z is depth below sea level, r,g,b are colors corresponding to depth below sea level, a is the reflection amplitude, and h is the depth below sea floor. x,y,z coordinates have been rotated so that the mean plane through the reflection is horizontal.
