Data about how the program is implemented - the types of work being done, and how much money is being spent - is recorded at the county level. This dataset spans 2012 through 2015, during which seven species were covered by the program. The results of our analysis will be published in a whitepaper in 2017. ## Variables - **county_state** = County State - **fy** = Fiscal year - **contract_id** = Unique ID for the contract under which the work was done - **st_nm** = State name (full) - **cnty_nm** = COUNTY - **program_name** = The Farm Bill program under which the actions were carried out - **account_type_name** = A "sub program" under which the actions were billed - **contract_status** = Active or planned - **total_treated_acres** = Number of acres treated across all action types - **Contract_Obligation** = Dollars obligated to complete all actions under a contract - **start_date** = The date the contract was initialized - **expiration_date** = The date the contract expires - **contract_item_id** = Unique identifier of an action under a contract - **item_status** = Complete or planned - **practice_code** = Unique code associated with a `practice_name`, as part of NRCS's [Conservation Practices Standard](https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detailfull/national/technical/cp/ncps/?cid=nrcs143_026849) - **practice_name** = The name of the practice; see NRCS's [Conservation Practices Standard](https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detailfull/national/technical/cp/ncps/?cid=nrcs143_026849) - **practice_units** = The units in which the quantity of the practice is measured - **planned_amount** = Quantity of the practice to be done - **practice_Obligations** = Dollars obligated for the given actions - **cnt_st** = County, State where actions were carried out - **species** = Common name of the species for which actions are being carried out - **county_name** = County name (full) - **state_name** = State name (full) - **STATEFP** = Two-digit state FIPS code - **COUNTYFP** = Three-digit county FIPS code - **COUNTYNS** = Another county-level code - **GEOID** = Five-digit concatenated state, county FIPS code - **NAME** = County name - **NAMELSAD** = Long-form county (or other unit, e.g., Township) name - **LSAD** = Unknown categorical variable - **CLASSFP** = Unknown categorical variable - **MTFCC** = Unknown categorical variable - **CSAFP** = Unknown categorical variable - **CBSAFP** = Unknown categorical variable - **METDIVFP** = Unknown categorical variable - **FUNCSTAT** = Unknown categorical variable - **ALAND** = County land area (units unknown) - **AWATER** = County water area (units unknown) - **INTPTLAT** = County latitude centerpoint - **INTPTLON** = County longitude centerpoint - **dups** = Whether the record (row) is duplicated ## Applications Web applications using this dataset include: - [WLFW app](https://defenders-cci.org/app/WLFW/) ## Archives External public repositories containing these data sets: - figshare: NA - Zenodo: NA ## Comments NA [Top](https://osf.io/zwcmw/wiki/home/#Working_Lands_for_Wildlife_data_0)
