Wiki Version:
We will exclude all participants with at least 9 (out of 10) same answers. The exclusion will be done before any analysis and no other exclusion criteria will be used for this experiment. The analysis will be done with two-way ANOVA where difference between dangerousness ratings between hard and easily pronounceable names will serve as a dependent variable and scenario and careful reading instructions will serve as the two factors. The primary hypothesis will be tested with scenario factor and the secondary hypothesis will be tested with the interaction between scenario and reading instructions factors.
Follow-up analysis with regression conducted separately for both scenarios will show whether there is an effect of fluency in both conditions (shown by significance of intercepts).
CHANGE *We found no effect of reading instructions and the analysis of instructions is not reported in the present manuscript. The R script for analysis using this factor can be found in Files.*
