<p>Original records were obtained via New York State (NYS) Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request to NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) on 2014-02-25, pursuant to <a href="https://www.dos.ny.gov/coog/foil2.html" rel="nofollow">Public Officer's Law, Article 6, Section 84-90</a>.
Therefore there is no licensing restriction on the data.</p>
<p>I processed these records for my PhD research on taxi transportation, as well as a few journal papers.
