Description: "Explaining sciences for citizenship" supports self-regulation and professionalism in initial teacher education. It is a publicly funded study by ANID, Chile, under the grant Fondecyt Regular nº1221716. It seeks to characterize the development of science student teachers' explaining practice through horizontal evaluation as support for self-regulation and professional growth. A podcast series was created to promote critical science literacy in education regarding the sociopolitical dimensions of climate crises, earthquakes and tsunamis. The paradigm is pragmatic; it uses a mixed methodology and multiple analysis methods. The results will be helpful for the teacher education field, and the generated products will be open source.
