Description: Public trust in nutrition science is argued to be eroding and greater transparency and scientific rigor in the field are pressing. Questionable research practices leading to selective reporting biases threaten the integrity in research and can be masked when the analysis intentions of researchers conducting randomized controlled trials are not pre-specified in registries, protocols, or statistical analysis plans. While adherence to these transparency practices are suboptimal across many fields, data for randomized controlled trials of nutrition interventions are limited or absent. This study aims to investigate the adherence of randomized controlled trials of nutrition interventions to transparency practices informing assessments of selective reporting biases: registration, availability of study protocol, and statistical analysis plans.
