Description: This study aims to investigate how households make decisions about public goods. We invite couples with at least one child below the age of 12 to participate in the study. In the study, the couples have the opportunity to invest in one of their children’s nutrition through nutritious meals provided on a weekly basis. Through the tasks in the experiment, we test whether the husband and the wife have different preferences when it comes to nutrition and how household bargaining affect the amount invested in nutrition. Furthermore, the tasks allow us to test for household efficiency in the provision of public goods, and rationality on an individual level and couple level (test of Generalized Axiom of Revealed Preferences). In addition, we identify the collective household model with the data, which gives us information on the Pareto weights. These estimates will be correlated with traditional DHS measures of bargaining power and new experimental measures of bargaining power, and will therefore give input on how to empirically measure bargaining power within the household.
