### Demo of study ### The following html file will run a demo of the study that does not collect any data. Download the html file and open it in a web browser. It will require javascript to be active in that browser. - https://osf.io/z2t7n ### Preregistration of Study 1 ### The preregistration for this study is under the study "Preregistration" component. - direct link to preregistration: https://osf.io/5qhdc ### Data and Code ### Data and code for this experiment are available under the Materials component. ### Testing Log ### April 19 - Posted 7 slots around 7:25am. These were needed to complete the first 500 participants because we had paid 7 who hadn't completed the study. - Posted 100 slots (batch 501-600) around 7:45am. - In batch 501-600, paid one "no code" participant who had spent a lot of time on the study but didn't contribute data. Added one more participant to complete the batch of 100. This batch had 17 returns and one No-Code. That was fewer than in previous runs before we changed the code so that it would only boot participants for leaving the focused tab once it went full screen. The batch was completed around 8:22 (with the extra participant finishing at 8:42). - Batch 601-700 posted at 9:17am on April 19. Completed around 9:45am. 15 Returns. - Batch 701-800 posted around 10:20. Accidentally approved 1 no-code person who hadn't contributed data, so added one more participant at the end to reach 100 in the batch. Signup rate was a bit slower for this batch, especially after about 10:30am central time. - Appears we accidentally ended up with 801 participants rather than 800. - April 20 - Added 16 more slots as per our preregistration because we had 4 who reported their age as under 18 (meaning we had 797 after running the first 801 participants). Had 4 returned and replaced in total. Final sample had 817 with 4 who claimed to be under 18, leaving a total of 813 eligible participants prior to data-based exclusions.
