This wiki explains the structure of the **Scripts and Materials** component. The component contains two folders, one for the Python script, stimuli, and instructions used for each experiment. The **Python_Packages.txt** file lists all Python packages and their version that I used for the scripts. **** **To run the scripts, I recommend to download the folder for each experiment as a ZIP file and then run the Python script(s).** **** ### Experiment 1 **Script_Devaluation_Exp1.py** is the Python script for Experiment 1. I annotated the code as thoroughly as possible. **Icons** contains the 100 top rated free iPhone apps from the [app store](https://www.apple.com/nl/itunes/charts/free-apps/) as of 3rd of April 2018, plus 43 stock apps preinstalled on all IPhones with iOS 11 or higher. Icons are in 630 by 630 pixels resolution. Top 100 apps are numbered according to their ranking. Stock apps have an `s` prefix in their file name. **Instructions** contains the instructions for the experiment. I created the instructions in Power Point and then exported them as pictures. **Output** is the folder where the data gets written to. It's empty and I only included it for the sake of completeness. The data can be found in the **Data, Analysis, and Figures** component. ### Experiment 2 Experiment 2 took place on two days. Thus, **Part 1** corresponds to Day 1 (as described in the paper), and **Part 2** corresponds to Day 2. **Part 1** contains the same file structure as Experiment 1. Note that the 100 top free apps are updated (16th of October 2018). **Part 2** does not contain any icons, as the script called the output and icon files from **Part 1**. The scripts for Part 1 and Part 2 have to be run separately. Once more, for an explanation of the variable names see the comments in the Python scripts as well as the analysis files in **Analysis Reports** in the **Data, Analysis, and Figures** component.
