Description: ODDPub describes the development of an algorithm to detect open data in biomedical publications. The present datasets contain the Open Data statements detected by ODDPub V5.1 for the test and validation datasets used for the development of ODDPub (https://github.com/quest-bih/oddpub). The publication (component publication) reports the approach, methods and results of the algorithm. It has since been further adjusted to increase its accuracy in detecting true open data cases and to increase consistency with FAIR principles. The initial objective for the development of the ODDPub was to include open data as an assessment criterion for the institutional performance-based reward system in research (performance-based allocation of state funds) at Charité Universitaets Medizin Berlin
