Description: The Test of Regulation in and Understanding of Social Situations in Teaching (TRUST; Aldrup et al., 2020) is a situational judgement test aimed at measuring teacher social-emotional competence (SEC) for both research and professional development purposes. However, the reliability and validity of TRUST has only been established in a sample of 346 German pre- and in-service educators (Aldrup et al., 2020). The psychometric properties and correlation of the TRUST with teacher wellbeing are largely unexplored in a starkly different culture like Vietnam where knowledge and understanding of teacher SEC and student social-emotional learning is reportedly very low (Dung & Zsolnai, 2021; Huynh et al., 2021). Thus, the purpose of the present study is to validate the TRUST in a Vietnamese teacher sample. This research further seeks to explore current levels of SEC in Vietnamese teachers and its association with their wellbeing.
