Wiki Version:
- Deaf LSC-Spanish bilinguals were tested in a picture-picture and a picture-word interference tasks while undergoing EEG. - Semantic and phonological distractors elicited more positive-going waves than unrelated distractors with both effects showing a similar time-course. - Deaf LSC-Spanish bilinguals are sensitive to the phonological properties of the oral language in sign production. Phono-translation facilitation was observed in both interference tasks. - Bilingual models of language production are discussed to accommodate the results on bimodal bilingualism.
