Description: This scoping review aims to review, explore, assess, and map the literature/studies that analyse the use of information and communication technology (ICT) by nursing health professionals, within the scope of their professional activity, to communicate with their patients. The primary objective is to identify situations in which the use of ICT to communicate is required, and then identify the challenges faced in these interactions and the perceived needs of nurses to overcome them. Additionally, the review seeks to highlight the communication skills that are necessary for evidence-based practices and which training programs are needed to prepare nurses for an ageing society in a digital and technologically dependent era.
