*NOTE: The web procedure is almost identical to the lab procedure, except that in the online sample we slightly modified the procedure since it was not possible to have participants read aloud the relationship status of each male. Instead, we showed each face three times-- each on it’s own screen. In the first screen the face was presented with the relationship label underneath it and a continue button. In the second screen the face was presented with the following question “What label was associated with this face?” and each of the relationship status items as response options. Then, in the third screen participants saw the same face again and were asked to rate the face’s attractiveness.*
