Description: Survey researchers have proposed approaches to estimation from nonprobability samples and have examined properties of estimators using case studies and Monte Carlo simulations. We have developed simulations of probability and nonprobability samples from Culture and Community in a Time of Crisis (CCTC), so that researchers can assess their methods using a common data source. CCTC, one of the largest surveys of cultural attendees ever conducted with over 100K U.S. respondents, was used as the universe of records for the Monte Carlo simulation. CCTC contains a wealth of behavioral and attitudinal observations that makes it ideal for simulation purposes.
