Wiki Version:
**The global study of generosity behavior** While there is apparent evidence that individual philanthropic behavior and the motivations for this behavior are at least to some extent universal, there is also evidence that people across the world do not equally display this behavior. In this project, I call for global collaboration to study philanthropic behaviors from a global perspective. I tentatively suggest the use of the term generosity behavior over philanthropic behavior, as this term appears more inclusive of the multitude of definitions and connotations across cultures. This OSF page includes open source information related to the study of global generosity, including interview protocols developed and used by students at the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and a publicly editable version of the Contextual International Philanthropy Database, a collection of macro level measures relevant for the comparative study of generosity behaviors. Please contact me at pwiepki@iu.edu if you are interested to advance the global study of generosity behaviors.
