Wiki Version:
These recommendations began as a project by the Best Practices Leadership Team of FOQUSAphasia (www.foqusaphasia.com) in 2020. Using an e-Delphi survey, which is a survey that aims to reach consensus by polling experts in the field, we aimed to develop the first set of best practices. The goal is to update these standards as the field's priorities, desires, and methods shift. By "reporting," we mean reporting on information in published and unpublished research works. The goal is to improve the consistency by which information is reported, as to improve downstream analyses like systematic reviews and meta-analyses, as well as a general improvement in the use of standard terminology and standards across this interdisciplinary field. Note that we broadly define aphasia, encompassing both classic aphasia, progressive aphasia, and cognitive-communicative disorders.
