Description: We undertake a comprehensive mapping of the research topic of interest, that is the use of translation apps to support communication and care provision in long-term care and community-based settings, by synthesizing the available evidence to date. This scoping study follows the five-stage Arksey and O'Malley framework, enhancements outlined by Levac et al. and Colquhoun et al., as well as Richardson et al.'s Framework for Digital Health Equity. Our analysis examines the included studies for the use of translation apps, range of digital health assets required for the use of the apps, and the associated outcomes for senior care. Additionally, the scoping study assesses the included studies for their engagement with health equity, including the addressing of ageism, ableism, and digital disparities in geriatric healthcare.
