Wiki Version:
In this paper, we provide an update on the estimate of researchers’ time and the salary-based contribution to the peer-review system. We used publicly available data for our calculations following estimation methods customary in this area of research. We discuss the implications of our estimates and identify a number of alternative models for better utilizing research time in peer-review.
