Wiki Version:
These are the standard set of measures we recommend be included in all social thermoregulation studies. We will also attach a demonstration dataset and codebook to improve usability. We invite researchers who translate these materials or use them in a new format (survey software, etc.) to provide us with a copy so we can add them here. **Minimum Requirements:** 1. **Social Network Index** (Cohen et al., 1997) English: [.pdf][1], 2. **Experiences in Close Relationships Scale** (Fraley et al., 2011) English: [.docx][2] 3. **Social Thermoregulation and Risk Avoidance Questionnaire** (Vergara et al., 2019). English: .docx 2. **Demographics**: Participant height, weight, native language, sex, age, (romantic) relationship status, smoking status (and, if yes, how many cigarettes per day), and whether they use medication (and, if so, which kinds of medication). For women, include a backward counting question to assess last menstrual onset, measured, ideally, at time of recruitment and during the study (cf., Gangestad et al., 2016). English: [.docx][4] 4. **Study location** (city, region, country) or or participant latitude and longitude. 5. **Min and max temperature** of the day for that location. 7. **Start and end date and time** for each session. Full materials: English: (TBA) French: [.docx][5], [.qsf][6] (import to qualtrics) **Additional Measurements (Ideal Requirements):** 1. Record the second-to-second ambient temperature of the room in which participants completed the study. 2. Record participants’ second-to-second peripheral temperature. 3. Record participants’ second-to-second core body temperature. 4. For women, assay estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone to estimate ovulatory cycle (cf., Gangestad et al., 2016).
