Description: Despite long-acknowledged links between health and geographic location, there have been no formal reviews of existing theoretical frameworks connecting place and health. In this scoping review protocol, we articulate our process of conducting a formal search of existing frameworks that seek to explain how place and space influence health. In doing so, we will seek to connect theoretical frameworks across disciplines including epidemiology, health geography, and environmental health sciences.
