Description: According to the William’s Institute (2011), an estimated 3.5% of adults in the United States identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual and an estimated 0.3% of adults are transgender. While there is a growing body of research that has focused on the lived experience of those who identify as a sexual and/or gender minority (SGM), much of this research has focused on a single dimension of identity within a specific geographical area (i.e., within the United States). As such, the larger goal of this project is to examine the lived experience of those who identify as SGM by collecting demographic data and data related to individual and relational well-being, with the focus on understanding the lives of SGM individuals living around the world.
