Description: The transition to higher education involves a demanding adaptation process with several socio-economic factors involved. Anxiety is a constant in higher education students and may become pathological. Moreover, some students develop mental disorders during the integration period, such as depression, anxiety disorders or even psychotic disorders. Mental health problems in this population have worsened since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, with more students dropping out. In view of this problematic issue, it is urgent to assess the mental health of students, and develop strategies to minimize the impact of this transition phase, promoting mental health and preventing illness. The main objective of this project is to assess the prevalence of depressive and anxious symptoms in higher education students and compare the results with sociodemographic characteristics.
