Description: During healthcare assistance, individuals may be exposed to various therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures, including intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections. Such injections are considered painful procedures and can be associated with traumatic experiences. During nursing care, healthcare professionals may utilize resources aimed at reducing pain and promoting a positive experience. Among the available resources, there are local pressure devices such as ShotBlocker® and Pikluc®. This scope review aims to verify and update the main findings regarding these devices in reducing pain, fear, and anxiety associated with intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections, with the goal of expanding their use in clinical practice.
