**About Us**
The MHC is a multi-institution partnership that supports the intersection between open science and coding. We recognize that institutions spend time, resources, and effort creating workshops, lectures, discussion sessions, and tutorials for their staff and students. In an online era, it is now easier than ever to share these materials and events with a larger audience, with the accompanying increase in impact.
The MHC acts as an organizing body, calendar, and repository for these materials and events. MHC members have access to the ‘MHC Calendar’, which lists past and upcoming events and links to relevant materials. Faculty, staff, and students from participating institutions can access the MHC Calendar and enjoy the resources posted there.
**Aims of the MHC:**
Cultivating best programming practices in research, including code documentation, preparing code for open access and sharing, data visualization, best practices in switching to use a different language or language translations, and more.
That members learn new uses and abilities in programming to apply in their work and improve their skills.
To showcase the utility and diversity of coding.
Providing peer-to-peer support and information for programming independently.
**How to get involved:**
