Description: This study investigated self-reports of empathy, the process of gaining understanding of another’s thoughts and feelings, and the accuracy with which judgments of others are made. Across four samples (N = 1153), empathy was related to distinctive accuracy, normative accuracy, and the assumed similarity of trait judgments.
