Wiki Version:

PROGRESS UPDATE - 4:47pm -- Too busy working to update after lunch. We have created and edited a template! A few last tweaks will be made and the questions will be organized over the next few days. Our goal is to send this template to OSF by the end of next week so they can put it online.

Thank you to everyone who participated. Some of you spent your ENTIRE DAY with us, and we're so grateful for your time! Your dedication allowed the hackathon to progress smoothly and consistently all day long.

Some of you dropped in and out, and we're grateful for that as well! We were frequently infused with new ideas from other parts of SIPS, like the data management hack. You kept us fresh and energized!

PROGRESS UPDATE - 12:19pm -- Goals of prereg template set. Each question in existing template edited at least once; new questions created! We're going to test this template after lunch.

PROGRESS UPDATE -- 10:00am Workshop finished! Check the link below for answers to questions. Thanks to awesome panelists for being awesome; thank to awesome audience for a great discusssion!

The link for questions to the panel members: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10GR5ikiHYGhUpDylvpdp0LRHtb948V9hhFIO5tsUs5g/edit?usp=sharing

Workshop (8:30am-10am) - Preregistration Q&A: Preregistration can be a great tool for enhancing the quality of research, including allowing for traditional interpretations of NHST results and limiting QRPs. But starting a new preregistration can be daunting. How much detail should we go into? What do we say about complex analysis designs? Can we preregister a study with existing data? If you want to start a preregistration, or have started one and gotten stuck in the weeds, come to our Q&A. Experienced preregister-ers share their experience, give advice, and answer your questions about what do in sticky research situations.

Hack-a-thon (10:15am-4pm) - Create a preregistration template for secondary data analysis: More and more researchers want to preregister studies using existing data sets. However, existing templates for preregistrations are often ill-suited for this task, including many questions that are not applicable and excluding questions that may be necessary for evaluating secondary data analysis. Together we will create a new template, specifically for research using existing data, which will ultimately be uploaded on OSF.

The link to the general document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10l5UXOjAbHBhjan-EE3-Z_ZEApFsgR6RN7gVf_x0p-A/edit?usp=sharing
