We found evidence to suggest that construal level may moderate the effect of political ideology on victim-blaming. High construal thinking increased victim-blaming for individuals with a conservative political ideology, but had no effect on those with a liberal political ideology. Victim-blaming, political ideology, and construal level are discussed.
