Available here are the following materials from the study "Mothers’ use of tactile cues for word learning is attuned to infants’ development".
1. PDF file: Manuscript describing the study
2. word_touch_raw_T.zip: A set of 35 Praat TextGrid files which contain the raw touch coding. The first tier contains words from the transcripts, the second tier shows the 6-minute segment that we used for this research, and the third and the fourth tier include temporal location of touch events on the right and left hand, respectively.
3. parse_textgrid.py and word.py: A set of Python scripts used to extract the word-touch alignment and word+touch co-occurrence data from the raw data (2).
4. word_data.csv: Output data extracted from (2) by running the scripts in (3).
5. sentence_data.csv: data containing timestamps for utterance and touch boundaries.
6. shuffle_6mins.csv: data containing randomized word order within the 6-minute segments. Each participant's word order was randomized 34 times to match with the number in the second shuffling method described in 7.
7. shuffle2_swap.csv: data containing randomized word-touch relation by replacing word tiers among dyads. Each participant's natural speech was replaced with the other 34 participants' speech.
