This talk will look 5 and 10 years into the future, examining alternative approaches to digital preservation repositories. By moving bread-and-butter digital preservation functions to lower parts of the infrastructure stack and adopting approaches used by the commercial sector, we can decrease complexity and increase sustainability of digital preservation.
