Wiki Version:
## Cognitive control and motivated reasoning Pre-registration can be found under "Registrations". ### Repository structure - Open code and data can be found in the linked GitHub repository - A detailed Readme.md file and a data description is provided in the same repository - 00_materials: Includes pre-registered materials, as administered and used in the study - 01_gorilla_experiments_questionnaires: Includes task files that can be re-used on gorilla.sc to replicate our study or for follow-up studies. **IMPORTANT:** As noted by a reviewer, the gorilla.sc files in the folder 01_gorilla_experiments_questionnaires were corrupted when uploaded to OSF. As an alternative, we have made the experiment available at this link: https://app.gorilla.sc/openmaterials/1073887 Through this link, the full experiment, including all (blinded) materials used in our data collection, can be openly accessed and previewed (no account necessary). With a Gorilla account, the experiment can also be cloned and re-used for future studies. We thank the anonymous reviewer for bringing this issue to our attention. ### Instructions for Reproduction Reported results can be reproduced by following these steps: 1. Download / clone the GitHub repository linked to this OSF page 2. Unzip the raw data folder 3. Open the R project file (analysis.R) in RStudio 4. Make sure dependencies (see Readme file and 00_run_all.R for details) are installed 5. Run the script 00_run_all.R 6. In the case of issues: Run each script separately first 7. Important: We provide pre-run brms models: If the goal of re-analysis is to re-fit models, delete the model objects folder (03_output/models) In case of any questions or spotted mistakes, feel free to drop us an email :)
