There are three folders. The **Codebooks** folder contain the .rtf or .xlsx files with the description of all variables for each of the datasets. Each experiment varies slightly and so has it's own file for Experiment 1 (SpontMTS), Experiment 2 (Exp S1 is also in this file, as it's the same variables; ProbeMTS), and Experiment 3 (MTSSubsetTotal). "**ManuscriptData_Summarized**" includes the data that was written up in the manuscript based on the exclusion criteria and outlier treatment reported in the manuscript. Each dataset includes the summarized data for each participant on each trial type (i.e., proportion correct of Avg reaction time), as used in the analyses. The Folders contains four datasets: "SpontaneousMTS_Exp1.xlsx": the summary data for Experiment 1, the MTS task that did not include a probe. This includes performance on the MTS task, numeracy score (subj. only), and the codes for the strategies. There is one row per participant. "MTSProbeV2_Exp2_outliersreplaced.xlsx": the data for Experiment S1 (reported in supplemental), after replacing the outliers as described in the manuscript. This includes accuracy, RT, and numeracy score (for both versions).There is one row per participant. "MTSProbeV1_ExpS1_outliersreplaced.xlsx": the data for Experiment 2, after replacing the outliers as described in the manuscript. This includes accuracy, RT, and numeracy score (for subjective only). There is one row per participant. "MTS_SubsetTotalProp_Exp3Summarized.csv": the csv file containing the summarized data from Experiment 3. This file contains the summarized data with and without outlier treatment. There is one row per participant per trial type (i.e., it's in summarized long form). "**Data_WithoutExcludingOutliers**" This file contains three datasets. For Experiments 2 and S1, it includes the datasets without replacing any outliers. We analyzed this data as well to ensure that any of our major effects were not being driven primarily by this outlier treatment and they are provided here for completeness. For Experiment 3, this folder contains the raw tidy data in a .csv file with one row per trial per participant. The code that took this data and transformed it into the summarized file described above is included in the analysis section. "SFOR_ProbeV1_NOTreplaced.xlsx": the data for Experiment S1. This includes accuracy, RT, and numeracy score (for both versions). "SFOR_ProbeV2_NOTreplaced.xlsx": the data for Experiment 2. This includes accuracy, RT, and numeracy score (for subjective only) "SFORTotal_tidydata.csv": the raw tidy data from Experiment 3, which includes one row per trial per participant. The README file for the variable list for Exp 3 also includes a section on the variables in this file.
