Wiki Version:
Once you have an understanding of the foundations of digital violence and how library workers can help prevent it, you can begin understanding your local context and establishing the networks of support you’ll need to combat digital violence in your campus community. Violence prevention is by necessity collaborative work. It requires deep expertise in a variety of fields. At times it can be at times exhausting, and even dangerous, but it is also incredibly rewarding, and much of the joy in this work comes from relationship building. This section will help you get started on that step of the process. When you’re finished with this section, you’ll be ready to learn about designing events to prevent digital violence. As a reminder, if you are new to this handbook, we recommend you start with our section on contextualizing digital violence prevention.
