Abstract:It is well established that emotion affects memory processing. We investigated the relationship between emotion and forgetting using a response-deadline version of the recent negative probe task (Monsell, 1978). Our results implicate that emotion slows the build up of PI in memory, but negatively impacts on its successful resolution.
