Description: This project derives asymptotic variance of the local treatment effect in multilevel regression discontinuity designs. The score variable in the statistical models for which analytic expressions are derived may follow linear form, linear form interacting with the treatment variable, quadratic form, or quadratic form interacting with the treatment variable. Researchers can find minimum detectable effect size, statistical power or minimum required sample size using these analytic expressions. Expressions are implemented in the cosa R library.
