Wiki Version:
Files within this project contain data and analysis for a manuscript entitled "Tibial nerve stimulation to drive genital sexual arousal in an anesthetized female rat" published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. These experiments were conducted to determine the effect of long-duration tibial nerve stimulation on vaginal blood flow. The tibial nerve of 16 rats were stimulated at various frequencies (10-25 Hz) for 30 minutes. Vaginal blood perfusion was recorded using laser Doppler flowmetry. The data and analysis methods presented in this project provide evidence that long-duration tibial nerve stimulation can be used to elicit maintained increases in the oscillations of vaginal blood perfusion in anesthetized rats.
